Este domingo 25 de febrero se celebró la 39ª edición de los Film Independent Spirit Awards en Santa Mónica, California. Como su nombre lo indica, estos galardones se dedican a reconocer a lo mejor del cine independiente. La ceremonia fue transmitida en diversas plataformas de internet, como Youtube, donde se pudo ver de forma totalmente gratuita.
En esta ocasión, los Independent Spirit Awards fueron presentados por Aidy Bryant, comediante reconocida por su labor en el programa nocturno Saturday Night Live. Varias series y películas destacaron por protagonizar las nominaciones. Algunas de ellas fueron “American Fiction” , “May December” y “Past Lives”, que obstuvieron cinco nominaciones cada una; “The Holdovers” y “Passages” obtuvieron cuatro. Respecto a las series de televisión, “I´m a Virgo” y “The Last of Us” lideraron con cuatro cada una.
