Como cada año, la organización GLAAD dio a conocer los nominados a los GLAAD Media Awards, premios que reconocen a lo mejor de los contenidos de cine, música, televisión y redes sociales en el tema LGBTIQ+. Entre sus nominados hay grandes sorpresas, pues muchas de las producciones que han sido premiadas en otras ceremonias como los Globos de Oro o los Emmys, también han sido tomadas en cuenta por esta organización tan importante.
¿Qué es GLAAD y qué reconoce?
GLAAD es la organización LGBTIQ+ que se encarga de promover historias de diversidad en diferentes medios. La organización nació como una necesidad de combatir la discriminación en contra de las personas que durante la década de los 80 sufrió por la crisis del SIDA.
GLAAD nació en 1985 como un espacio que se dedicó a informar y difundir información real y sin prejuicios sobre los problemas por los que se atravesaban en la época. Esta organización se ha encargado de ser un puente entre la comunidad y los medios de comunicación con el fin de que las historias de diversidad sean vistas, escuchadas, respetadas y actualizadas.
Es por eso que a través de los GLAAD Media Awards se reconocen las historias en diferentes ámbitos del entretenimiento representan y difunden un mensaje de amor, respeto e inclusión.
La edición 2024 de los GLAAD Media Awards se llevarán a cabo en dos eventos, el primero de ellos en Los Angeles el jueves 14 de marzo en el hotel The Beverly Hilton y el segundo evento en Nueva York el sábado 11 de mayo en el hotel The New York Hilton Midtown.
